Daylight Saving Time ends this coming weekend

For chores, you give me extended hours
Left undone as I sit behind a desk.
Grass and leaves mounded in high towers
Can be done before the sun sets.

I am so glad your life was extended.
I will miss you when you're gone.
To me you give joy, strength, hope blended
With doldrums 'til you come again.

March to November, your rhythm and rhyme
Benjamin Franklin's brainchild left for later
Added moments to work, play, or have fun.
How I love you, Daylight Saving Time!
