I vacillated between four and five stars and decided on five because is is a well-written, suspenseful book with a realistic plot. The characters are we'll-drawn and realistic, even to the corruption found in small town politics. it is deserving of five stars for those reasons. However, it is written for a younger audience and I am an oder audience of one. i prefer less physical intimacy and slower strolls in the books I typically read. Young adults will love this book as well as Taylor-Perry's other Raiford Chronicles (those characters are a little older and more mature-seemingly).
